Description

Unlimited-User Site License

This license is designed to allow an unlimited number of client installations to connect to a single server installation within the purchasing organization. It breaks down as follows:

  • The Server Application may be installed on one server within the purchasing organization, and may run one database file.
  • The Client Application may be installed on as many computers as necessary, so long as they are all communicating with the single database installed on the server.  The Client application includes all modules, VisionFM Overlay for AutoCAD, Crystal Reports 11 Viewer, and the VisionFM Drawing Viewer.

Single-User License

Allows the software to be installed on one computer within the organization. Additional copies must be purchased separately

Site Licensing

The Case for Site Licensing

Site licensing reduces integration complexity, aids system growth, and aids productivity.

There are basically two types of license models for client-server applications: Site licensing, which allows everyone in the purchasing organization to use the software they've purchased, and Seat licensing, which forces clients to purchase individual licenses for each client computer, or 'seat', used.

Compared to Seat-licensing, the unlimited-user site license provided with VisionFM eliminates any restriction on the software's use. It reduces IT's license management responsibility, and virtually eliminates the complexity of determining the total cost of the system. As a result, it simplifies the purchasing and integration process, allowing your employees the freedom to maximize the benefits of  the CAFM system, without restrictions.

In the field of facilities management, this concept is not only beneficial, it's crucial. From maintenance to purchasing, facilities management involves practically every department and every discipline in an organization. If only a limited number of users have access to the management system, the success of the system is diminished significantly. If only a limited number of users adopt the system, the system may become neglected and under-utilized, which is counterproductive to the software purchase in the first place. For this type of corporate system to work effectively, everyone needs access.

Client-server systems are based on the theory that a source of information is more valuable when a group of people share and contribute to it. Additionally, when an increased number of users use the system, they provide a greater quantity of accurate, specific, and relevant information, and the value of the system increases again. The more users - the more productivity.

Given the benefits, Site-Licensing is clearly the only option for systems that are intended to be valuable, grow, and increase the effectiveness of the operation.

VisionFM has always used site licensing, and continues to see it as a major factor in the success of the system.

Third Party

Crystal Reports, AutoCAD, and SQL Server are sold separately, are licensed independently by their respective companies, and are therefore not included in the VisionFM Unlimited-User Site License.
