The Event Notification Server (ENS) is a powerful server application that extends all of VisionFM modules to work with your business processes. Its incredibly flexible design allows Administrators to define events that the system needs to be aware of and then respond to those events. The result is the automation of repetitive work and enforcement of your procedures.

Events can be broken down into two categories

• Scheduled Events: Actions can be automatically triggered based on one-time or repeating dates. For example, you may want an operating expense report printed at your printer on the first weekday each month.
• Responsive Events: ENS monitors the database for specific changes that you define. When the change takes place, an action is triggered. For example, you may want a plumbing work request to automatically generate an email to a custodian.

ENS can respond to an event by taking one or more of the following actions:

• Email: Emails can be generated that contain a generic message or they can include information from the database. For example, an email triggered by a work request could include the request number, issue and location.
• VisionFM Functions: The ENS system includes several predefined functions such as generating a work order from a work request. These functions are written in VB Script and are easily customizable.
• Printing: The ENS system can print any VisionFM report to any printer on your network.
• Tasks: The interface displays each user's personal calendar and task list. The ENS system can create tasks and assign them to users.
