What version of AutoCAD is VisionFM compatible with?
VisionFM is compatible with AutoCAD versions 2004 to 2011, as well as AutoCAD LT 2004 to 2011.

How are upgrades to VisionFM handled when a user migrates to future versions of AutoCAD?
VisionFM is a registered developer for AutoDesk. Therefore, we receive upgrades prior to the public release dates of their software. We endeavor to support AutoCAD upgrades as close as possible to the public release date. Typically, support for AutoCAD new releases are made available as mid-release patches.

Is the AutoCAD overlay included when I purchase VisionFM?
VisionFM supports AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architectural Desktop. Also available is an add-on that allows VisionFM to work with AutoCAD LT.

How are the AutoCAD drawings brought into the VisionFM Drawing Viewer?
VisionFM and AutoCAD work together to communicate with the database. Any changes to space or assets in the drawing are automatically reflected in the database. Each time a draftsperson saves the AutoCAD drawing, a second copy is automatically stored in the database for use in the VisionFM Drawing Viewer. There are no additional drawing files to manage, upload or import.

What DBMS does VisionFM use?
Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g, MS SQL 2000, MS SQL 2005, and MS SQL 2008.

What database-specific features are used by VisionFM?
For Oracle we use triggers, stored procedures, sequences and synonyms. For MS SQL we use stored procedures and identity fields.

Can your security architecture be integrated with a third party solution such as LDAP or Active Directory?
LDAP and Active Directory are supported by VisionFM for authentication of users into the application.

Can recurring data imports be set up, such as employee names from a Human Resources database or Active Directory?
VisionFM's Event Notification Server can be set up to read Active Directory or other common data sources and create/update employee records in the VisionFM database. Additional imports such as asset lists, organization hierarchies, real estate information, etc can also be imported for a one time use or as a recurring process. Configuration will be required to align the data to VisionFM's data fields.

What integration points exists in your software?
VB script with ODBC can be written to read/write directly with data sources. Scripts can be run on-demand or scheduled. Users can also cut-and-paste to other Windows applications or export to MS Access.

How do you handle support of third-party components whose vendors no longer support them?
Third party programs include AutoCAD, MS SQL, Oracle and Crystal Reports. VisionFM does not support these products except where we have customized them to work with our application.
